About the Digital Transformation Center
The Digital Transformation Center (DTC) serves as a dedicated space where government, industry, and academia will converge to collaborate, brainstorm, educate, and cooperate in advancing digital transformation in support of the United States Air Force (USAF). When these powerful groups collaborate, they create a synergy that transcends individual capabilities, creating genuine and impactful innovation.
The USAF has identified a critical need to drive digital transformation across its organization. This strategic initiative aims to eliminate data barriers, enhance operational efficiency, and substantially accelerate the pace of innovation. Digital transformation is the key to our future success, and the need for action is urgent.
What is the role of the DTC?
Provide a physical co-location:
Small, leasable office space mixed with shared collaboration space breaks down physical barriers to connect industry partners with government stakeholders to ideate and build new solutions in real-time. Innovation sparks when creative minds come together, and the DTC serves as the catalyst.
Lead the way in workforce Development:
Ideas are the starting point, but a skilled workforce is needed to bring the ideas to life. The DTC accomplishes this by forging partnerships with local universities and facilitating the collaboration between industry partners and students for co-op programs, internships, and part-time employment opportunities. By providing students with real-world digital engineering work and training opportunities it creates career pathways in a hands-on work-and-learn environment.
Provide digital engineering tools:
The DTC will house the Digital Design Studio (DDS), powered by Ohio University. The DDS will provide access to digital engineering tools including AR/VR equipment. It will allow industry members to learn, and use tools needed to advance their digital transformation initiatives. The DDS will make these tools readily accessible, removing costly barriers and long lead times that otherwise impede progress.
Plan events & programming:
The DTC will host events designed to bring people together to share, learn, connect, and grow the digital transformation revolution.
